Do we need to get better at time management? Or do we need to instead think about Time itself? More specifically, what it means to us - with the very limited time that we have. The answer would be different for each of us. But I'm rather certain that taking time to ponder about Time itself can be a fruitful thing to do.

Forget About Time Management and Do This Instead

To get the most out of every day, first rethink your relationship to time.

Sharon (Management Trainee)

I Met Syamim randomly because I signed up to get a personal finance booklet on IG. But best decision ever. “I wont advise you to invest until 6 months later, after we have tracked your cash flow” “There are more packages but I won’t sell those, cause they are really not worth. I can run through them but will refer you to someone else if you really want to buy.” “Me: I don’t really know how cpf and income tax works Syamim: *prepares an entire ppt and lecture to educate me” “Me: I have random insurance that my parents buy from different companies, but I don’t really know what they are. Syamim: *makes me send him screenshots from SingPass, pdfs from AXA and the GE app on my dad’s phone to find out what I have.” If those quotes weren’t enough, the final stroke for me was; “Syamim: *pulls out an excel sheet 10 mins into our first meeting to start calculating my cash flow and planning for things like holidays to marriage to dental appointments.” I have met more than 5 financial advisors, but all seemed to just want to “grow my wealth”. While that is important, I think understanding my wealth and giving me handles to manage it is much more important. At our age, really think financial literacy is the way to go. Syamim keeps up to date and is a really good teacher, even asked him if he considered being one. What he does is to give you the necessary knowledge to manage your own finances and make the most well informed decisions. Coming full circle, he is everything a financial advisor should be but usually isn’t - giving you good financial advise and lets you decide. What everyone else does is tell you how to grow your wealth, how to invest, how to beat inflation, another savings plan, another plan to diversify, or simply instilling some fear of the future to help you ‘invest’ early. So for all the lost souls and fresh graduates, Syamim is definitely the guy for you. I’ve actually never met anyone else who pulls out an excel sheet to plan my finances instead of drawing me some triangle, timeline or graph. He is open to teaching and advising those who already has insurance plans too, no strings attached!! So feel free to reach out. If you feel bad just get him a drink though he will probably tell you to wait till you gain enough income to buy him one :))

Khairuddin (Engineer)

Syamim sets realistic targets for myself and others who I know based on our current financial status. He is not afraid to be upfront about things which he considers important for my financial well being. Always sincere and eloquent, he explains the different financial plans in a clear and concise manner. He also sets a good example for his clients and is transparent regarding all things money-related. Extroverted and approachable, I am not afraid to raise my concerns to him and he will address it objectively. One particular thing I can takeaway from him is that you do not have to be book smart to be financially smart, you just have to be prudent and realistic. My experience with him has been nothing but pleasant and I will learn new things every time we meet. I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn the ropes of good personal finance management to approach Syamim!

Vivian (Teacher)

Syamim is a reliable and knowledgeable advisor who is forward-looking, and gives me advice on how to better manage my finances. During our most recent review, he advised me on how to better allocate my money to achieve my saving goals. Syamim also reviewed my insurance plan and shared new changes for my consideration, which allows me to plan and think further ahead. As I am getting closer to getting a house/marriage, the latest review was necessary and important as it allowed me to make adjustments to my financial planning. I would highly recommend choosing Syamim as your Financial Planner as he has the heart for his clients 👍🏻

Nazirul (Immigration Officer)

Syamim has been my financial advisor since the start of my career. As you can read from other reviews, he is not pushy and will explain the right plan to suits your needs. He also provides other alternatives so that we can choose what’s best. During the meet up, he uses graphics and excel sheets to further enhance the way he delivers your financial goals. These really help to summarise what I am committing in the long term. Overall, I am really satisfied with the work plan that he curated for me. Syamim also gives timely updates and will answer your queries at any time of the day. Definitely recommend others who are looking for financial planning. Especially to those who have just graduated or just starting a career just like myself. 100% recommended.

Azalea (HR Executive)

Seasoned financial advisors are aplenty but few are able to provide a service of great efficacy. I was "transferred" to Syamim as my new financial advisor. Speaking about your finances to a stranger (then) can be daunting. It doesn't take a while for anyone to realise his passion to creating the best plausible financial circumstances to his clients. He breaks down big explanations into bits and pieces for me to digest easily. He is forthcoming to take on any doubts raised. His style of cutting through the noise enables me to understand recommendations proposed and with his calm demeanour, to explain them candidly. His unwavering commitment has proven to give me a primer to read on other aspects of financial management. So if you are looking to get your finances in tip top health, and be emboldened to take charge of it, I recommend Syamim. All the best!!

Aidil (Freight forwarder)

I met Syamim through our mutual friends. At that point of time, I was looking for a financial advisor to address my concerns. Syamim was highly recommended back then which made led to me being very comfortable during our meetings. Through these sessions, he managed to inculcate the importance of disciplined financial habits and insurance. I highly recommend meeting Syamim to anyone who wants to get their finances in check
